The Ananda Strings album represents some of Swami Kriyananda's finest and most sublime music written for strings.
His String Quartet is comprised of four movements, each based on one of his songs of Shakespeare: Hark Hark the Lark, Full Fathom Five, Who Is Sylvia, and Ariel’s Song. In each movement, the melodies are shared between the two violins, viola, and cello, allowing each to shine in turn, and showcases Kriyananda's finest ensemble writing. Performed by Darshan Lotichius and Ramesha Nani, violins, Nancy Hill, viola, and David Eby, cello. Total time 23 minutes.
Initiation into the Mysteries, from his Egyptian Suite, is a beautifully expansive movement lasting 9 minutes, performed by Sharon Brooks, flute, David Eby, cello, and Donelle Page, harp.
The 23 minute Life Is the Quest for Joy Suite takes the listener into a deep state of awareness and joy, with its beautiful melodies performed by violin and cello, backed by a lush live string ensemble.
